Healthcare professionals see pharmaceutical companies as key partners in saving lives, but tend to be neutral towards the sector.

Among HCPs, pharmaceutical companies are seen as more trustworthy than other corporate sectors, such as the automotive industry or banking, but are trusted less than medical research organisations like universities and health charities.

Trust is underpinned by the personal experiences of healthcare professionals. Many highly rate their engagement with employees of pharmaceutical companies. HCPs also speak positively about the sector’s innovation and R&D activity, as well as its commitment to rigorous ethical, quality, and safety standards. The vast majority of healthcare professionals see the sector as saving and improving lives with the medicines and vaccines they manufacture. Most feel that companies listen to healthcare professionals about the needs of their patients.
